ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Tallal Chaudhry on Monday appeared before the 3-member bench of Supreme Court (SC) headed by Justice Ejaz Afzal. However, his lawyer Kamran Murtaza couldn’t appear before the court since he was on leave.
Chaudhry told that he had submitted his written response in accordance with the court’s orders, although his lawyer had failed to appear before the court. He also submitted an adjournment plea due to this reason.
Upon inquiry, the State Minister for Interior told that his lawyer will be able to return by March 5 and therefore the court was adjourned till March 6.
After the hearing, Tallal Chaudhry talked to media where he stated that the NAB witness Robert Radley’s statement had actually exposed NAB as a department.
Talking about Punjab’s senior bureaucrat and Director General of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Ahad Cheema’s arrest by NAB, Chaudhry said that Punjab bureaucracy had done a lot and they should actually be rewarded for their performance in the energy sector instead of being punished.
The Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) legislator had been facing the contempt proceedings after he had reportedly stated before former premier Nawaz Sharif in a meeting, the video of which was uploaded on Twitter, that the current lawyers would never provide him with justice and thus needed to be ousted from the court.
