KANDHKOT: Sixteen bandits belonging to the Nandwani community and residents of the village of Murad Khan Nandwani of Kashmore-Kandhkot district, surrendered at the Sindh Rangers Headquarters in Sukkur on Thursday morning. According to a statement issued by Pakistan Rangers Sindh Sukkur, sixteen notorious bandits – namely, Muhammad Iqbal Nandwani, Makhino Khan Nandwani, Saifuddin Nandwani, Muhammad Siddique Nandwani, Kehar Ali Nandwani, Ghulam Muhammad Nandwani, Noor Hassan Nandwani, Muhammad Yaqoob Nandwani, Jaffar Khan Nandwani, Meer Hassan Nandwani, Dost Ali Nandwani, Atta Muhammad Teghani, Muhrab, Bashir Ahmed, Pathan and Fazal Muhammad – surrendered before Pakistan Rangers Sindh at the Rangers Headquarter in Sukkur. Those that surrendered also gave up weapons such as submachine guns, rocket launchers and machineguns. Those also present on the occasion where the press statement was read were, Sector Commander of Shahbaz Rangers, Colonel Imtiaz, Commissioner Larkana Muhammad Abbas Baloch, DIG Sukkur Feroze Shah, other Rangers officers, as well as Jalal Khan, the Sardar of Nandwani tribesmen. The statement further explained that several cases of murder, dacoities, highway robberies, etc had been registered against these men at different police stations. Pakistan Sindh Rangers said and assured all anti state elements through his message – if they wish to surrender to the Rangers, they will be welcomed and have all necessary legal assistance provided to them. Makhino Khan Nandwani, one of the dacoits explained the reasoning behind the mass surrender saying “we wish to live a peaceful life with our families”. Pakistan Rangers of Sindh presented traditional gifts including Pakistani flags, hats and Ajraks among those who surrendered themselves before Rangers.
