ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM)’s Sheikh Salahuddin has filed a case against Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf’s (PTI) MNA elect Muhammad Aslam in the Supreme Court.
Sheikh Salahuddin has argued that Muhammad Aslam is a wanted criminal and should not have contested elections in the first place and therefore his victory in NA-254 should be declared null.
The Karachi Custom Court had declared Muhammad Aslam a criminal in a 1997 ruling associating him with smuggling. Muhammad Aslam did not mention these details in his nomination papers.
Sheikh Salahuddin has contested that because Muhammad Aslam concealed these facts in his nomination papers and hence is neither Sadiq nor Amin and should be disqualified.
