LAHORE – Former interior minister Rehman Malik on Friday informed that former president Asif Ali Zardari’s press conference scheduled for today (Friday) has been cancelled.
Malik stated that the press conference was cancelled on the advice of Zardari’s physicians. He announced these developments during an interview with private TV channel. He also stated that the dismissal of the conference did not have any links to an earlier controversial press conference by former Karachi mayor Mustafa Kamal.
Speaking on Kamal’s press conference and his allegations against Rehman Malik, the former minister said that it was not his duty to dictate the declaration of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). He said that his meetings with the MQM chief were in connection with strengthening the allied governments in the center and province.
Malik said that being interior minister, Altaf had never his support for ‘criminal’ workers. He said that he represented his party, PPP, in meetings with the MQM chief.
